YG-1 Cutting Tools for the Aerospace Solutions

The aerospace industry uses high strength materials like aluminum alloy, titanium alloy and CFRP to make their products lighter and increase engine efficiency. Since those materials are difficult to cut, cutting tools and the solutions have utmost importance.


Here are YG-1’s solutions for the industry which enable higher productivity, stable and accurate process as well as reduced processing time for maximized production efficiency. Even though aluminum alloy is not categorized as one of the difficult to cut materials, it is not easy to process because the material requires fast processing speed and deep cutting to reduce processing time with good surface roughness. This is why ‘Al7075’, the hardest aluminum alloy, is widely used in the industry.

CFRP is another important material in the industry. Since it is extremely strong, flexible and light, it is a valuable material not only in the aerospace industry but also in the automotive and energy industries. The main problems of processing it are delamination and fiber breakout. CFRP’s low machinability and expensive price require specialized cutting tools of high quality and productivity.
